Did you know that bees dance?
Honey bees move in a figure of 8 pattern (just like this trail!) to communicate the distance, direction and quality of nectar-rich flower patches to fellow honeybees. This dance is called a ‘waggle dance’.
Why not have a go at doing a waggle dance! How many can you do before feeling dizzy?
Why do bees hum?
Because they always forget the words!
As you move to the next bench, why not hum your favourite tune!
If you can’t think of one, The Friends of Dawberry Fields
Park have been known to sing the chorus from the famous Beetle’s tune
“Strawberry Fields Forever ” whilst litter picking or doing
conservation tasks, but changing ‘Strawberry’ to ‘Dawberry’.
If you know the tune, why not sing along…
“Let me take you down
‘Cause I’m going to DAWBERRY fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
DAWBERRY fields forever.”
