Baubles of Brandwood

We use yarn to do good and have a good yarn as we make!

Between November and December 2024, The Good Yarners craft group met up at The Brandwood Centre and St Bede's Church to create 'baubles' to decorate Dawberry Corner Community Garden on its first Christmas. Decorations will be used in years to come too.

Congratulations to all the crafters and artists, including the family members who joined us during half term, and thank you for brightening up the garden and helping residents of Dawberry Road feel festive.

Thank you to Castle Cartons, based in Kings Road, for sponsoring our tree and garden lights this year.

Wooden baubles to decorate the fence

Thanks to funding from Selly Oak NNS, our Good Yarners meet ups are designed for people living in Selly Oak Constituency who are aged 50 years young or over. They are great if you enjoy company, like to craft with purpose and for meeting like-minded people who live in and near the Brandwood area of the city.

We will be meeting fortnightly (daytime or evening sessions) until March and we always love to welcome new people to our friendly group. Our crafters have different talents and abilities and share skills with each other. Join our next project!

The group is currently funded through the  Selly Oak Neighbourhood Network Scheme to provide social activities for citizens age 50+.

Thank you to our project funders
